One of the tests to be certified is to withstand 2-1/2 minutes of a direct flame while full of gasoline plus it cannot accidently ignite fuel vapors such as if there is a gas spill in the engine compartment. Is the electric fuel pump approved for marine use? Federal and Coast Guard regulations require that the fuel lines be certified Type A-15 (flame resistant) and approved hoses have those markings imprinted on it about every 12".
